| 31 December: Duck Lane - Partial Albino Blackbird been around again for the last couple of days- usually down the bottom of the garden. BY. |
| 14 December: An adult Peregrine was sparring with a Carrion Crow over Adventurer’s Fen, Aldreth this morning. SS. Rowan Berries, and a Happy Christmas from PM.  |
13 December: On the fence this afternoon,waiting for dinner. A handsome male Sparrow Hawk. S&ID.  |
9 December: Nice lot of birds out on the fens today. Lode Way Sewage plant. 10 Pied Wagtails. , 1 Grey Wagtail, I Meadow Pipit. Hoghill Drove, Yellowhammer then male Sparrowhawk in same bush close to car. Luckily Yellowhammer just missed but a Great Tit still happily feeding while hawk sat there! Rest of Fens. 8 Kestrels, Mixed flock Goldfinches, Linnets and Greenfinches about 30, Hundreds of Fieldfares and Continental Blackbirds, 3-4 Redwings mainly in tops of trees just loafing. So many berries on hedgerows they will never go hungry this year. Masses of Starlings. About 1500 Lapwings and 3500 Golden Plovers off Adventurers Drove all flighting. Also 30-35 Common Gulls off Tinkers Lane. Dambank/Long Drove 2 Corn Buntings. Photographs: 1. Tinkers Lane with masses of berries on hedgerows. 2. A solid load of Starlings on wires along Dambank. | 6 December: Reports from my neighbours tell me that there is a partial albino Blackbird around Aldreth Road, Haddenham. They told me it has been in my garden at times. I have not seen it yet so it must know when I am out!! Camera's out when I do. PaulM. Partial Albino Blackbird: This is possibly the one that I see in my garden from time to time. This is its third winter here. I’ve tried to get a photo but it’s not been close enough. Barbara York |
