24 November: Fairies Bonnets, Coprinellus disseminatus. Common name also Trooping Crumble cap or Fairy Inkcap. A very small cap fungus that grows in large colonies. Hinton Hedges. PM.  |
23 November: Berry Fen Corner: Carrion Crow 1 with mainly white wings. Cross Drove, Hoghill Drove: Grey Partridge c6, Lapwing c100, Black-headed Gull sev ’00, Common Gull c50, Herring Gull c20, Lesser Black-backed Gull 1, Green Sandpiper 1 (main drain Hoghill Drove), Goldfinch c75 (single flock, Hoghill Drove). 17 November: Yet more fungi. False Chanterelle. Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca. Lode Way garden. Poisonous. Confusable with ordinary chanterelle. PM  |
15 November: Guaranteed to produce an aaaah? At least two and known to be three Barn Owls in newly erected box at the Haddenham Pumping Engine. Photo taken from house of David and Lyndsey Jordan. Lucky old them. David is Haddenham Drainage Boards engineer. Hopefully the birds will breed next year. PM.  |
14 November: Largish flock of Fieldfares in Hinton Hall orchard ( Susan Everett) but strangely none in Aldreth Rd orchard. Chance observation of Pied Wagtail by fruit store and a couple of Green Woodpeckers. Aldreth Road Orchard. Woodcock, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Male Sparrowhawk and possible Long-eared Owl. I didn't see latter but it was described to me by a owner very well. Also Common Inkcap fungus. PM.  |

12 November: This Deadly Fibrecap, Inocybe erubescaens, was found under a potted Christmas tree by Ian & Sheila Dickerson. Its poisonous. PM   |
9 November: Woolley Milkcap. Lactarius torminosus. Lode Way garden. Very good fungi year. PM. (Always stand to be corrected on ID). Also Kingfishers showing well on Guppy's Pond per Wendy Lanman. |
| 6 November: Big flocks in the garden today - in and out for a couple of hours. Approx. numbers 10+ blue tits, 8 great tits, 18 greenfinches, 20+ goldfinches and 6 chaffinches plus 20+ blackbirds. Barbara York. |
4 November: 1 and 2. Small grey fungus in Sheila Dickerson's garden, Station Road, Bearded Milkcap, Agaricus pubescens. About 2 inches across. 3. Pale Brittlestem in my garden...Psyhrella candoleanea. PM.   |
3 November: 1 and 2. This interesting fungus found in my grass (lawn). As far as I can tell it is Goblet Waxcap. Hygrocybe cantharellus. I stand to be corrected as these Hygrocybes are confusing. It could be Scarlet Waxcap H. punicea or Crimson Waxcap H.coccinea, but I don't think so. It is quite a good fungi season. Several types have appeared in my garden and elsewhere that I have not noted before. I have some more to investigate yet. Please contradict if you think otherwise. PM  |
1 November: Another one to add to list. This is one of those plants easily overlooked. It is a wild plant but was found in my garden in shaded conditions Note clover like leaves. Yellow oxalis or Wood sorrel. PM  |
